Don´t you know some Data Scientists? Here I let you my paradigms

There are a lot of professionals which want to become on Data Scientists (like me), but many times, they don’t know the work that current Data Scientists do on their work. I want to share with you some of the most well known Data Scientists, which love to share their knowledge with the world.Here is the completed list:

• Hillary Mason is the Data Scientist at bit.ly, founder of Dataists, a portal dedicated to share information for Data Scientists, and one of the creators of NYHack.org
• Jonathan Goldman, former Data Scientist at Linkedin and founder of LevelUp Analytics (which is not in stealth mode right now)
• Jeff Hammerbacher, former Data Science Manager at Facebook and founder of Cloudera, one of the leaders in the Hadoop-related services
• Kim Rees, one of the partner at Periscopic, a socially-responsible data visualization firm
• Doug Cutting, the guy that had the great idea to convert Nutch to Hadoop, currenty is the Chief Scientist at Cloudera
• Nathan Yau, one of the obligated blogs to watch when you want to know more about Data Visualization and Statistics, and author of the great “Visualize this: The Flowing Data Guide to Design, Visualization, and Statistics” book
• D.J Patil: former Senior Data Scientist at Linkedin. Currently is the Data Scientist in Residence at Greylock Partners
• Jay Kreps, one of the Data Science Managers at Linkedin and one of the managers of the SNA Projects at Linkedin, the Search Network and Analytics Team inside the company.
• Milind Bhandarkar, Chief Data Scientist for Hadoop at EMC/Greenplum
• Hal Varian, Chief Economist at Google, the man who said about what defines a Data Scientist:
• The ability to take data — to be able to understand it, to process it, to extract value from it, to visualize it, to communicate it — that’s going to be a hugely important skill in the next decades.
• Bill Franks, Chief Analytics Officer at Teradata and auhtor of the “Taming the Big Data Tidal Wave” book
• Hadley Wickham, PhD, Assistant Professor at Rice University and creator of ggplot2, the Grammar of Graphics for R
